Sad News: Houston Texans Record-Breaking Top Star Player Just Sustain A Career-Ending Injury That May Lead To…..

News on Texans WR Tank Dell.

One of the victims of a nightclub shooting in April, Tank Dell sustained minor injuries; nonetheless, he has been making a full recovery thus far. Despite potential limitations, the second-year Texans wide receiver is expected to participate in the team’s offseason training.

Even though Dell took a blow to the leg, he was only in the hospital for a short time due to his injuries. According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2, the 24-year-old did not have any structural damage, thus he is anticipated to recover fully. His trainer addressed the problem by saying that he shouldn’t expect full participation in the forthcoming OTAs and minicamp.

Delfonte Diamond revealed that head coach DeMeco Ryan plans to bench him until July’s major camp (via Wilson). It’s likely that he will observe practice. DeMeco would like him to do air routes. I’m sure he’ll be in practice, but he won’t be giving it his all.
Naturally, Dell is also on the mend after suffering a broken fibula that derailed his promising rookie season. Prior to the shooting, the Houston product was anticipated to be healthy enough to participate in organized team activities (OTAs). However, it is clear that his schedule for returning to full workouts has been changed. Given Dell’s significance to Houston’s passing game, it would be expected that the team would adopt a cautious approach.

In 11 games played last season, the third-round pick racked up 709 yards and seven touchdowns. During that time, he connected early with quarterback C.J. Stroud and was targeted eight times or more on five separate occasions. Even though Houston returns Nico Collins, who had a stellar year last season, for 2024, regaining that form would greatly assist the squad in replicating its success from 2023. This summer, the club added four-time Pro Bowler Stefon Diggs to their roster through trade, giving Stroud even more high-profile targets to pursue.

It will be interesting to watch Dell’s rehabilitation this summer because he showed last season that he can handle starter duties. The current situation suggests that he should be fully functional again by the time training camp starts in the middle of July.
