Latest News: Just In LSU Tigers Just Confirm The Signing Of Another Star Player who may …………………

Another spring transfer player has been added to the LSU football roster: Louisiana Tech Punter.

Prior to the opening of the Spring Transfer portal window, the LSU football team had a significant need for defensive tackles, but they also had numerous other minor requirements, one of which was someone to fill the position of punter. When the season began, Peyton Todd was expected to serve as the punter for the squad; however, there were some concerns with consistency that created worry, particularly from Brian Kelly.

In her remarks regarding Todd’s performance in the Spring Game, Kelly made the following statement:

“Not as consistent as I would like, I thought today was an opportunity for him to just say “There is no competition here” and he’s got to be more consistent quite frankly.”

It is Brian Kelly.
During the spring of this year, the LSU football team made efforts to get a punter, and they have now finally added a punter, making the position a camp competition that is exciting to watch. LSU has acquired the services of Blake Ochsendorf, a punter from Louisiana Tech. Ochsendorf punted 53 times in 2023, accumulating 2,423 yards at an average of 45.7 yards per punt, and he finished the season with a total of 70 yards punted.

As a result of his efforts, Ochsendorf was considered to be among the top 20 punters in the country and topped Conference USA in punting average.

Now that Peyton Todd and Blake Ochsendorf are competing for the punter job, the Tigers will have an open competition between the two of them this spring. Either Peyton Todd’s performance will improve to the point where LSU would like him to be, or Ochsendorf will become a more reliable option for the club. Both outcomes are expected to occur by the competition.

Taking use of the available scholarships
The LSU football team has now handled a position that had the potential to be problematic for the next 2024-25 season but has now been resolved. The LSU football team did not achieve their goal of recruiting a large number of defensive players during the spring season; nonetheless, as a result, the team was awarded more scholarships. The Tigers will now have a competition at the punter position this summer rather than rolling the dice at the position, which is the appropriate strategy. This change will take effect this summer.
