Cole Bishop and Seven Other Draft Picks Are Signed by the Bills.

Today, the Bills signed a large number of players from their draft class. The following players have been signed to rookie contracts by the team:

  • Round 2, Cole Bishop (S, Utah), No. 60
  • Round 3, DeWayne Carter, DT (Duke), No. 95 (from the Chiefs)
  • Ray Davis (RB, Kentucky), Round 4, No. 128
  • Sedrick Van Pran-Granger (C, Georgia), Round 5, No. 141 (from Giants through Panthers)
  • Round 5, Edefuan Ulofoshio (LB, Washington), No. 160 (from the Packers)
  • Round 5, Javon Solomon (EDGE, Troy), No. 168 (from Saints)
  • Tylan Grable (T, Central Florida) in Round 6, No. 204
  • Round 6, Daequan Hardy (CB, Penn State), No. 219 (from the Packers)

Travis Clayton, a seventh-round offensive tackle, was previously signed by the team. Keon Coleman, a wide receiver selected in the second round and the Bills’ first overall pick, is the lone unsigned rookie.

Cole Bishop had an outstanding career at Utah, recording 7.5 sacks and 197 tackles. After completing the season with 60 stops, 6.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, and two interceptions, he was named to the Pac-12 second team. Bishop’s performance solidified his status as one of the draft’s best safety prospects, and the Bills ended up selecting him with the 60th overall choice.

The Bills should have a spot vacant in the starting lineup for Bishop after releasing Jordan Poyer and keeping Micah Hyde unsigned. Taylor Rapp, the third safety from the previous season, is now the other projected starting safety.
