The ballot for the potential 2025 college football HOF entrants has been made public by the College Hall of Fame and the National Football Foundation.

Two Texas Longhorns who once lighted up the field at Darrell K. Royal Memorial Stadium are among the 2025 FBS player candidates.

The College Football Hall of Fame has officially approved Michael Huff and Dan Neil, giving them a slot on the ballot this year.

Without Texas’s renowned center Dan Neil, the Longhorn offensive line just did not function in the early to mid-1990s.

In 1995, Neil was chosen as an All-American, and a year later, he was a unanimous choice.

Neil assisted in leading the Horns to a Southwest Conference Championship during his junior year (1995). Neil and Texas took home the inaugural Big 12 conference championship the following year.

During his senior season, Neil was a finalist for the Outland Trophy and a semifinalist for the Lombardi Award.

In 1996, the former Longhorn guided the Texas program to a No. 12 offensive scoring ranking and a No. 11 national ranking for total offense.

He set the Texas program record for straight starts and was chosen to the All-Conference team twice.

Neil deserves to be in the CFB Hall of Fame without a doubt, even though his position at center (which is typically horribly ignored) doesn’t bring him a lot of national notice.

He won the Thorpe Award, he was a unanimous First-Team All-American, he was the BCS National Championship Defensive MVP, and he is a Longhorn legend.

Michael Huff was a terror in Texas’ secondary during the early 2000s, constantly breaking up pass attempts and dominating the Big 12.

Huff had the momentum-changing interception against Reggie Bush and the USC Trojans that arguably led to Texas’ eventual victory in the 2005 National Championship game.

He also stopped USC’s running back LenDale White from scoring a crucial touchdown late in the 4th quarter of the game.

Huff returned four interceptions for touchdowns throughout his time in Austin, setting Texas’ program record.

A two-time First-Team All-Big 12 honoree (2004 & 2005), Huff more than earned his spot in the College Hall of Fame.
