Latest Indiana Fever News: Caitlin Clark Just Made A Shocking Statement To Indiana Fever Head Coach Regarding The Team USA Snub On Her

Indiana Fever head coach Caitlin Clark said that the Team USA snub “woke a monster.”

According to reports, Caitlin Clark, a prominent player for the Indiana Fever, will not be competing for Team USA in the women’s basketball tournament in Paris in 2024. All it has done is give her more drive.

Christie Sides, the head coach of the Fever, told reporters on Sunday that Clark responded, “Hey coach, they woke a monster.”

When Clark defeated the Washington Mystics on Friday night, scoring 30 points in 39 minutes, she didn’t need any additional inspiration. In the process of leading her team to an 85-83 victory, she scored seven 3-pointers in a game that tied the rookie record.

With 16.8 points per game, Clark leads all WNBA rookies and the Fever could need more performances like that. With a 3-9 record, Indiana is toward the bottom of the standings and has not yet win back-to-back games this season.

Following the announcement of the squad on Sunday, Clark also had a conversation with reporters.

“I’m excited for the girls that are on the team,” she stated. “I am aware that this is the world’s most competitive team, and I also understood that my fate might have depended on whether I made the team or not. I can’t wait to see them. I will be cheering them on to the gold.”

She also said she didn’t feel any disappointment with what many analysts and fans are calling a snub.

“I think it just gives you something to work for. That’s a dream. Hopefully one day I can be there. I think it’s just a little more motivation,” she said.

The WNBA will take three weeks off for an Olympics break this season, and Clark said that she’ll enjoy getting some time off after months of competition across the college and pro levels. At the same time, she’s looking forward to having more time for her and her team to improve ahead of her rookie season’s final months.
