Toprak Razgatlioglu is «advised» by Giulio Nava not to attend the MotoGP with BMW: “It’s not that easy.”

As early as 2025, Toprak Razgatlioglu is rumored to be considering a move to MotoGP; his manager Kenan Sofuoglu has made sure that ROKiT BMW is aware of this ambition. According to some rumors, he might join the Bavarian manufacturer’s top class in 2027, but Giulio Nava doesn’t think that would be the greatest course of action. Using Marc Márquez’s transition to Gresini as an example, Álvaro Bautista’s chief engineer in the Superbike World Championship emphasized that the Spaniard didn’t start from blank or with uncertainties despite not knowing the bike: I think there are significant distinctions. Marc went to a bike that, in any event, benefited him during a time when he was having issues because it wasn’t a question mark;

All he had to do was concentrate on getting proficient at riding it. He succeeded and does a good job. However, Marc was raised in that world and is a native of it. [..]. Granted, MotoGP has changed since 2013, the year he made his debut there, but it’s still not that drastic. Well, Marc went on a bike during a time when he was having issues, and the bike helped him even if it wasn’t not a question mark; all he needed to do was concentrate on getting accustomed to riding it, or learning how to ride it. And Marc showed up at the age of 20.Nava clarified that Razgatlioglu wouldn’t have the assurances and commitments that would be ideal in a debut year if BMW entered MotoGP:

Toprak would be older than he is currently if he went there in 2027. As I mentioned previously regarding Marc, if he arrives there with a BMW, you arrive there with a question mark in the feel that if you visit a Ducati now, you are aware of what you have; similarly, if you visit a Honda, like Marc did in 2013, you are aware of what you have. That is to say, you had a top bike that was functional at the time, one that almost all of the riders on it could express a particular degree of performance on, even though I wouldn’t say it was the greatest on the grid. [..]. It’s not that easy, in my opinion, to go from a new bike to one where you have to learn the category and the quality of the object you are holding.

“That is, I would see it much easier for,” the Italian added. Someone like him, whose first priority should be to focus on himself, learn how to ride a bike, and not question it, if he wants to attend the MotoGP. However, if you buy a bike for the first time, you have to learn how to ride it. In addition, whenever you walk into the garage, “X” people are in front of you, asking questions like, “But the engine, but the gearbox, but the frame.” You realize that this isn’t the ideal situation to start with. That is, taking into account his limits.
