Wednesday’s star forms new strategy ahead of Hull City clash after Hull incident

Di’Shon Bernard, a well-liked Sheffield Wednesday defender, thinks his team can resume winning ways this evening by maintaining good away performance against his former team.
The Owls were unable to convert their domination into a victory in their home match against Cardiff City on Sunday, which has been a recurring theme at some points this season. The next hurdle comes from Bernard’s former loan team, Hull City, who have only won one of their eight games at the MKM Stadium due to terrible home form.

They will be looking to duplicate their August Carabao Cup victory on Humberside, and Wednesday’s road performance has been respectable.

“I’ve already played them a couple of times,” Bernard said to BBC Sheffield. “It’s always good to return to the MKM; we did it last time and won. Hopefully, we can win, and it should be an exciting game. We’ve done okay, but I’m not really sure why we’ve improved this year. It was difficult to win last season, but this year we’ve pushed teams hard and achieved outcomes. I hope we can repeat that.

Bernard, who has made 54 appearances and has a long-term deal that runs through 2027, appears to be a player who will likely be crucial to the Owls’ next phase of their ongoing strategy under Danny Röhl. He acknowledged that his form has improved from an early in the season where he wasn’t happy and followed his management in pointing out that their performances haven’t always translated into results.

To be honest, given the nature of the game, I felt we dominated them from the first kickoff to the last whistle. We were unlucky not to put the ball in the net, but we continued to attack and looked dangerous the entire time. If we can maintain the same level of performance

“I wasn’t entirely up to speed, and I wasn’t thrilled with how I started. Despite never having the entire preseason, I feel much better and have much more confidence in my abilities today. Both defensively and with the ball, I’m looking lot better. For me, it’s about keeping my head down and hoping that these performances continue to be consistent.
