BREAKING: Mizzou Stuns College Basketball World with Shock GM Hire—Tim Fuller Returns in Power Move!

A familiar face is returning to Mizzou Basketball—but this time, in a groundbreaking new role.

Former assistant coach Tim Fuller has been named Mizzou’s first-ever General Manager, the university announced. In this role, Fuller will focus on strategic planning, roster construction, alumni engagement, agent relations, and NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) strategy.

This move won’t come as a shock to Rock M+ subscribers, who first heard whispers of Fuller’s return over six weeks ago. Fuller previously served as associate head coach at Mizzou from 2011–2015 under Frank Haith and Kim Anderson. He even went 5-0 as interim head coach during Haith’s suspension to start the 2013–14 season.

Fuller rejoins the program after three years as an assistant at Providence, where he worked under former Mizzou guard Kim English and helped guide the Friars to an NCAA Tournament berth in 2023 and an NIT appearance in 2024.

Though he has an extensive coaching résumé—including stints at Wake Forest (his alma mater), Louisville under Rick Pitino, and work with NBA star Chris Paul—it’s Fuller’s off-court experience that truly sets him apart.

“He’s one of the most connected individuals in the sport,” said head coach Dennis Gates, praising Fuller’s innovative mindset and ability to build relationships at every level of the game.

Most recently, Fuller served as Director of Scouting and Recruiting at Overtime Elite, where he played a key role in signing elite prospects like Amen and Ausar Thompson, Alex Sarr, and Rob Dillingham—all top-8 NBA Draft picks.

He also spent time at Nike as a marketing director, where he worked closely with Dallas Mavericks executive Nico Harrison and earned a reputation as “Nike’s East Coast guy.”

With deep roots in the high school, college, and pro circuits, Fuller has long been recognized as a behind-the-scenes powerhouse. A Yahoo Sports article once dubbed him the “most feared basketball recruiter you’ve never heard of.”

Now, Mizzou is betting that his unmatched network and savvy will give the Tigers a competitive edge in the evolving world of college basketball.
