Braves Minor League Recap: Caminiti Returns in Style, Ritchie Dominates, Gwinnett Bats Go Cold

Pitching stole the spotlight across the system, led by Cam Caminiti’s electric return and JR Ritchie’s breakout Double-A outing — though wins were hard to come by.

🔺 Triple-A Gwinnett Stripers

Game 1: L 0-1 | Game 2: L 0-4

Gwinnett got swept in a doubleheader, shut out in both despite strong starts:

• Davis Daniel went 6 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 8 K — only mistake was a solo HR.
• Zach Thompson looked solid, but two errors led to 2 unearned runs.

Jarred Kelenic finally broke a cold streak, roping a double in each game — including a 106.8 mph rocket. Signs of life at last.

🔺 Double-A Mississippi (Columbus Clingstones)

L 4-5 vs. Blue Wahoos

• JR Ritchie: 5 IP, 1 H, 2 ER, 7 K. Best outing at Double-A so far. His slider continues to shine, and his changeup is gaining steam.
• David McCabe: 3 hits, 2 runs.
• Ethan Workinger chipped in with 2 hits and an RBI.
  Bullpen collapse erased a strong showing from the starters.

🔺 High-A Rome Emperors

L 2-5 vs. Greenville

• Adam Maier allowed 2 ER in 3 IP before rain cut things short. Fastball command remains a work in progress, but secondaries looked sharper.
• EJ Exposito stayed hot, launching a solo shot and driving in both Rome runs.
• Will Verdung had two hits, but the offense is stuck in neutral with Clohisy and Espinoza both in slumps.

🔺 Single-A Augusta GreenJackets

L 4-5 vs. Fayetteville

• Cam Caminiti dazzled in his season debut: 5 IP, 1 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 8 K. Sat 95–96, showed crisp command and slider feel.
• Owen Carey delivered a 3-hit night and a clutch RBI double in extras.

Despite late chances, Augusta couldn’t cash in for the win.

Junior Garcia delivered the dagger — a 3-run bomb in the 9th to seal the comeback.
