BREAKING: NFL Defenses Beware: This Giants Speedster Is About to Break Out

As the New York Giants concluded OTAs this week, there’s a sense of optimism surrounding the team—especially with a revamped quarterback room heading into the 2025 NFL season. With Russell Wilson now under center, the offense may finally unlock the potential of players who’ve been waiting in the wings. One such player making early waves is wide receiver Jalin Hyatt.

Hyatt, a former third-round pick, has stood out during recent practices and is generating buzz from analysts. CBS Sports’ Garrett Podell included him in a list of potential breakout stars in the NFC, noting that Hyatt appears to be building early chemistry with Wilson. Podell writes, “If New York can finally throw deep now that [Daniel] Jones is gone, then perhaps Hyatt could take a major leap.”

Drafted out of Tennessee in 2023, Hyatt was originally seen as a complementary weapon for then-starter Daniel Jones. But the connection between the two never materialized. In his rookie year, Hyatt played all 17 games, recording 23 catches for 373 yards. His second season saw even less production—just 8 receptions for 62 yards over 16 games. Two years into his career, Hyatt has yet to score a touchdown.

That could change in 2025. According to John Schmeelk of Giants.com, Hyatt is starting to click with Wilson. “It’s worth watching,” he noted, as the Giants evaluate which receivers fit best in what’s expected to be a more vertical passing attack. If that’s the direction the offense takes, Hyatt’s speed and skill set could make him a key piece.
