Eluemunor Breaks Silence on Giants Locker Room Leadership — What He Just Revealed Changes Everything!

New York Giants right tackle Jermaine Eluemunor has spent much of his career protecting quarterbacks who were far from elite. Now, he’s hopeful that rookie Jaxson Dart can change that narrative and develop into the franchise QB the Giants have long needed. But before Dart gets his shot, the Giants will roll out veterans Russell Wilson and possibly Jameis Winston in 2025.

While Wilson and Winston might not be long-term solutions, they’re clear upgrades over Daniel Jones and the revolving door of starters the Giants used in 2024. Beyond their on-field abilities, what’s impressed Eluemunor most is the leadership they bring.

“It’s really the leadership — and I don’t mean that as a knock on anyone — but Russ and Jameis bring a totally different energy,” Eluemunor said Wednesday. “Especially Russ — he’s just built different. This is his life. He knows everyone’s responsibilities, picks up the offense quickly, and really makes it his own. It’s been amazing to watch.”

Wilson isn’t just here to compete — he’s also taken on the role of mentor to Dart, a duty he and Winston have embraced. Between the two, they bring over 20 years of NFL experience, including a Super Bowl win, a No. 1 overall selection, and plenty of highs and lows.

Winston, often underestimated, has proven to be a thoughtful mentor. He’s respected for his football IQ and willingness to guide younger players like Dart, while his aggressive playing style still sets an example on the field.

“Having Russ and Jameis around has been huge,” Eluemunor said. “Even when they’re not practicing, they’re in the huddle, they’re engaged in meetings — they’re doing everything to stay sharp and help the team stay on track.”

Wilson, despite being on a one-year deal, doesn’t carry the same uncertainty that clouded last season. The expectation is that the Giants will be more competitive this year, giving Dart a better foundation when he eventually takes over.

It’s too early to predict how much better the quarterback play will be, but Eluemunor is optimistic.

“I’m not going to make any bold predictions,” he said. “But I really like this team.”
