Two Louisiana Standouts Trending Toward LSU

Dezyrian Ellis | Cornerback | Franklin Parish (Winnsboro, LA)

Ellis continues to rise as one of Louisiana’s top cornerback prospects, and LSU is making a serious push for his commitment. Though he plays both sides of the ball in high school, the Tigers are recruiting the versatile 6’2”, 180-pound athlete as a corner.

Last season, Ellis dazzled under center — throwing for over 2,100 yards and 31 touchdowns while adding 827 rushing yards and 10 more scores. He earned District 2-4A MVP and Class 4A All-State honors as a quarterback. But the Tigers see his long-term future on defense, and they aren’t alone: Michigan State, West Virginia, and Houston are also in pursuit of the Top-300 talent.

Isaiah Washington | Safety | Haynesville (LA)

Washington has emerged as one of the top players in Louisiana’s 2026 class. After shining in spring camp, the 6’1”, 170-pounder earned offers from Arkansas, Baylor, and Tulane. LSU jumped into the mix last month, extending a scholarship to the two-way star.

He’s helped lead Haynesville to back-to-back state title games and was named to the Class 1A All-State team as a defensive back. He’s also a standout track athlete, winning the 110m hurdles state title. With his stock soaring and momentum on LSU’s side, On3’s Steve Wiltfong has already logged a prediction in favor of the Tigers.
