Former Oregon Ducks linebacker Jamal Hill said of the Houston Texans, “I’ll fit wherever they want me to fit.”
Jamal Hill is committed to altering the story. He is aware that it will be difficult for sixth-round NFL draft selections to make the team in the fall.
The outstanding linebacker from the Oregon Ducks was selected by the Houston Texans with their sixth-round pick (No. 188) in the 2024 NFL draft. Once Blake Cashman signed a free agent contract with the Minnesota Vikings, the Texans utilized the selection to create depth at the position.
Texans coach DeMeco Ryans has already expressed interest in Hill.

Hill’s 2023 performance was insufficient to earn him a spot at the NFL Scouting Combine, but during Oregon’s Pro Day, he ran a 40-yard dash in 4.41 seconds, which would have made him the fastest linebacker and tied him for quickest among safeties. After his Pro Day, he went from 216 pounds to 226 pounds.
With his tenacity and such quickness, Hill is a fascinating addition to the Texans’ roster. Ryans, a Pro Bowl linebacker and the former NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year, will be his mentor.
