With the 65th overall pick in the third round, the Giants selected Darius Alexander, a defensive tackle from Toledo. Despite playing in the MAC, Alexander stood out with his disruptive play — totaling 23 tackles for loss and nine sacks over his college career. He earned Third Team All-MAC honors in 2023 and improved to Second Team All-MAC in 2024.

Alexander’s redshirt senior campaign was his best yet, finishing with career highs in key areas: 40 total tackles, eight TFLs, 3.5 sacks, and a pick-six across 12 games. According to PFF, he also registered 37 pressures, a 12.9% pass-rush win rate, 23 run stops, and a 7.9% run-stop rate — showcasing his dual-threat ability as both a run stuffer and interior pass rusher.

The Giants signed Alexander to a four-year rookie deal projected at $6.762 million, including a $1.557 million signing bonus, per Over The Cap. His cap hits will be $1.229 million in 2025, rising incrementally through 2028, with a potential for contract renegotiation after his third season.

Alexander could compete for a starting role as early as his rookie year. With Nunez-Roches potentially on the roster bubble, the Giants may deploy a defensive front featuring Dexter Lawrence II, Roy Robertson-Harris, and Alexander — a trio that could stabilize the interior line in 2025.
