LSU Staff Departures Continue as Brian Kelly Reshapes Offseason Strategy

The latest departure comes from Jake Sugarman, who is expected to join the UCLA Bruins for the 2025 season, according to 247 Sports. Sugarman, who previously worked with Arizona State before serving as a Player Personnel Graduate Assistant at LSU, will take on the role of Director of Scouting and High School Relations in Westwood. The Minnesota native is now set to join his third collegiate program in as many years, continuing his rapid rise in the player personnel field.

Sugarman’s exit is the latest in a string of departures from LSU’s support staff this offseason. Here’s a quick look at other notable exits:

1. Jordan Arcement – Director of Player Development

Promoted to Director of Player Development in January 2023, Arcement played a key role in LSU’s recruiting and NIL efforts. He previously served as a recruiting specialist during the 2022 season. Arcement is now heading to Athletes First, where he’ll contribute to the agency’s expansion into the revenue-sharing landscape of college football. Prior to LSU, he spent nearly three years at Virginia, rising to Director of Recruiting Communications.

2. Bobby Barham – Assistant Director of Recruiting

Barham joined LSU in early 2022 and held multiple roles during his tenure, most recently as Assistant Director of Recruiting. Before that, he served as the Tigers’ on-campus recruiting coordinator and initially started as a defensive personnel analyst. He recently announced via social media that he’ll be pursuing a new opportunity elsewhere.

3. Preston Tiffany – Director of Player Personnel

Tiffany joined LSU in February 2024 after a successful four-year stint at Ole Miss, where he helped build one of the most talented rosters in program history. His efforts helped the Rebels achieve a school-record 11 wins and a top-10 finish in 2023. Tiffany is now moving to the NFL, having accepted a position with the Philadelphia Eagles.
