Blockbuster 3-Team Trade Proposal Sends Star Lineman to Giants — NFL’s Balance of Power Shifts!

The New York Giants are heading into a pivotal season with a strong emphasis on the health and performance of their offensive line. While injuries are always a wild card, the front office has taken steps to bolster depth this offseason. General Manager Joe Schoen brought in offensive tackles James Hudson III and Stone Forsythe through free agency and selected Marcus Mbow in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Despite these reinforcements, recent seasons haven’t been kind to the Giants when it comes to injuries up front. In a bold three-team trade proposal by Bleacher Report’s Brent Sobleski, the Giants are part of a scenario that could dramatically reshape the NFL landscape.

In this hypothetical deal, the Giants would trade edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux to the Miami Dolphins and receive offensive tackle Jonah Williams from the Arizona Cardinals. The Dolphins, in turn, would send wide receiver Tyreek Hill to Arizona.

For this trade to work, Arizona would need to part with a proven offensive lineman to satisfy New York’s needs. The Cardinals have repeatedly tried to rebuild their offensive line with limited success, despite investing significant resources into the unit. Williams could slide in at right tackle for the Giants, potentially solidifying a group that’s struggled with consistency, while veteran Kelvin Beachum Jr. would continue to anchor the Cardinals’ strong side.

New York’s willingness to part with Thibodeaux stems from the newfound depth at edge rusher, particularly after drafting Abdul Carter with the No. 3 overall pick. Although Thibodeaux remains in the team’s short-term plans, he’s unlikely to stay beyond 2026 when his rookie deal expires.

Acquiring Jonah Williams would mark a significant shift for the Giants. A former first-round pick by the Bengals in 2019, Williams never quite lived up to expectations in Cincinnati, averaging 39 pressures allowed per season from 2020 to 2023, according to Pro Football Focus.

Currently, the Giants have Jermaine Eluemunor at right tackle, entering the final year of his deal. While he offers versatility and could slide inside to right guard, right tackle remains his most natural position. A trade for Williams could provide both immediate help and long-term stability for New York’s offensive line.
