Cincinnati Reds Select Power Hitter Cincinnati Reds in Latest Mock Draft.
CINCINNATI — The Cincinnati Reds have picked Georgia Bulldogs slugger Charlie Condon as the No. 2 overall selection in ESPN’s latest MLB Mock Draft.
Condon boasted an impressive .433 batting average, with 37 home runs and 78 RBIs in 2024. His outstanding performance earned him the title of National Player of the Year. Throughout the season, he primarily played third base and center field.
“Reds executives have indicated all spring that they plan to go under slot value here, potentially comfortably under the $9.785 million slot value, and still set a record, surpassing the $9.2 million bonus Paul Skenes received as last year’s No. 1 pick,” wrote ESPN’s Kiley McDaniel. “Even a bonus just under $9 million could be the largest of this draft.
“Rumor has it that if Cleveland passes on Condon, he’ll be taken second. Other frequently mentioned players for this pick include Burns and Caglianone, with some debate on whether Bazzana is a viable option.”
The MLB Draft will take place from July 14-16. For McDaniel’s full mock draft, click here.
