Another Sad News: Alabama Crimson Tide Loses Yet Again Another Star Player To ……………………..
James Brockermeyer unexpectedly leaves Alabama via the transfer portal.
The Alabama Football team has lost center James Brockermeyer to the transfer portal as he leaves as a graduate transfer. As a recruit, James Brockermeyer was a four-star recruit in the 2021 recruiting class. Brockermeyer appeared in every game for the Alabama Football team while serving as the backup center in 2023. He enters the transfer portal with a no contact tag meaning he already has his destination in mind.
The decision is unexpected because Brockermeyer and newcomer Parker Brailsford appeared to be vying for Brockermeyer’s starting center position. By all accounts throughout spring practice, Brockermeyer was having a great spring and was playing a big part on the starting offensive line. Brockermeyer performed admirably in the A-Day Game, enhancing his standing in the competition and making him more valuable to teams in need of a center.
The move is concerning and startling at the same time because Parker Brailsford will return to the team, according to Kalen DeBoer, but there is still a lot of unknown. Four centers from the 2023 squad have now left the Tide: Darrian Dalcourt’s eligibility expired, Brockermeyer, Terrence Ferguson, and Seth McLaughlin all transferred.
A number of guys, notably Roq Montgomery, who started cross-training after McLaughlin and Ferguson left in the fall, will be vying for the backup center spot.
Could Alabama Football use the transfer portal to chase a center?
The Alabama football team will have one of, if not the greatest offensive lines in the nation going into the 2024–25 season as it is now set up. In the event that the team decides not to bring back Brailsford or in the event of an injury, the Tide may now seek to the transfer portal to recruit a center with some experience. The center will benefit from playing between two of the greatest guards in the country, and the Tide will have one of the finest offensive lines in the nation whether or not they add a center.
