Done Deal: Just In New Orleans Saints Confirm The Signing Of Another Top Talented Star Player….

Veterans at a critical defensive position are signed by the Saints.

Throughout this offseason, the New Orleans Saints have needed help at the safety position. It was imperative to have veteran depth, and the front staff just made a wise decision in that regard.

Former Detroit Lions DB Will Harris is being signed by the Saints.

Entering the draft, safety was a position of need. However, the Saints’ selections in the first three rounds did not correspond with the position’s worth. The class didn’t have much upside overall at the position.

They had to deal with safety after the draft. Although Jordan Howden and Tyrann Mathieu are expected to start, the depth is lacking. Despite playing few defensive snaps the previous season, Jonathan Abram had a strong performance.

They have a seasoned presence in Harris, whose coverage they can rely on. Pro Football Focus gave Harris a 63.7 coverage grade in 2022. Harris had trouble in his new role with Detroit the previous season. In 2023, he primarily played cornerback for the Lions; however, the Saints should use him at safety again.

In 2020–2022, as a hybrid linebacker/safety defender, he had some of his best plays.

Harris is only 28 years old at this point.
